The South's Best, Inc. was founded when president and owner Elizabeth Wooten designed what is now known as the "Marlin Darlin' Tie" for her conservative, Southern, seafaring husband. Within days neighbors, friends and businessmen alike were inquiring as to where they, too, could purchase one of the traditionally conservative yet whimsical neckties.
Elizabeth created a line of neckwear, belts and accessories for both boys , men and girls that combined both the preppy, banker stripe with the icons that her husband and other men love so well. Her sister in law, an international flight attendant, came on board helping her fly around the country looking for silks, her mother in law helped run carpool, her father in law was her legal advisor, her brother in law helped with marketing materials and her husband was her financial advisor and cheerleader. Almost three years, a showroom in the world renowned AmericasMart in Atlanta , several sales representatives and well over two hundred stores later, Elizabeth continues to slowly yet dilegently grow her family based business. Elizabeth attended Saint Mary's in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated with a degree in Mass Communication from Campbell University. She has been married for 20 years to Robin Wooten. They have 2 daughters: Olivia (17), Carrington (14), 3 Labrador Retrievers (Emma, Bailey & Sally), a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (Tucker) and a Welsh Pony named "Socks". |
